Safety check your equipment

In order to perform your work in an as efficient and correct way as possible, there are a number of checks you need to perform on a daily basis, before you start working. In this section, we guide you through the daily routines you need to include in your workday.

Check the stop switch

Start the engine and make sure the engine stops when you move the stop switch to the stop position.

Switch off the engine by moving the stop switch to the STOP position before carrying out any other checks or maintenance.

Hot parts (muffler)

  • Check that the muffler and the heat guard is in good condition.

Check the status of the air filter

Always start off with a clean filter to ensure optimal performance and make sure to clean or replace the filter on a regular basis. Keep in mind that a dirty filter decreases engine performance.

Quick release function on the harness

  • Check the function of the harness safety release.

Vibration damping system

  • Check that the vibration damper system is undamaged.

Check the cutting equipment and guard

Grass blade and support flange

Check the grass blade and support flange for cracks or damage. Never use faulty equipment.

Cutting attachment guard

  • Check that the blade guard or trimmer guard has not been damaged
  • Make sure the trimmer/brushcutter is equipped with the correct guard in relation to the cutting equipment used.
    Check if the guard is correctly mounted.

Check the trimmer head

For your safety and optimal performance, make sure the cutting equipment and guard are properly attached.

  • If needed, use a locking pin, and tighten the trimmer head/blade nut
  • Set the blade guard according to the cutting equipment
  • Use the guard with line knife for the trimmer head

Locking nut

Ensure that the locking nut has not lost its captive force. The nut should be replaced after it has been put on approx. 10 times.
